Tim and Eric are Here to Stay

February 28, 2007 by lethologica

For those of you who routinely hit this site looking for “tim and eric suck” or the more case-sensitive “Tim and Eric suck”. Do yourself a favor and go see them live. Here are a few of the things you should expect:First of all, you’ll find yourself in short supply. At the Knitting Factory last night, the place was filled to capacity on both floors, all with pumped up fans (many of whom brought their own merchandise to have signed). The show opens with DJ Douggpound. You’re gonna think he sucks, but you’ll soon be wrong. The opening act starts off slow and then gets going really well, ending just when the crowd is really getting into it and kicking off the main act, Tim and Eric. Here’s how they made an entrance. Eric’s a little hard to make out at first, but the crowd reaction will clue you in.

The show is comprised of video clips from Awesome Show mixed in with live sketches. Some old, some new. Here’s Uncle Muscle Hour:

And the number one reason to go to the show is to see the big secret that no one was allowed to video tape. I can’t even tell you what it is here because the entire crowd swore an oath not to blog or video tape it, and to smack anyone in the back of the head who did. All I can tell you is it involves some hidden camera footage of one of the celebs who appeared on TGTTM.

UPDATE: Okay, I’m closing the comments for this post. I really don’t give a shit if you like them or not. If they don’t make you laugh then it’s your loss, please move the fuck on. ‘Nuff said. But I will leave  you haters with an excerpt of T&E’s interview with the Onion AV Club:

AVC: Did you have any idea that Tom would be as polarizing as it was? People loved it or just didn’t get it at all.

TH: I don’t remember feeling like it was going to be polarizing. It was a surprise. I guess the only people that had seen it before were friends, and people that were interested in seeing it, so we’d only gotten positive reactions. Obviously, when it came out, there was this other side. We were warned by Adult Swim, who said, “Listen, there’s this element out there of pathetic, sad people that feel it’s important to write on these message boards if they don’t like something. It happens to all our shows, and it’s kind of meaningless, and it represents a very small portion of people.” There’s also 90 percent of the public that would never know the show exists at all, and probably wouldn’t get it if they did. So we’re talking about this really small percentage of people that watch the show, and then out of that, there’s this little, little group of people that hate it —and love talking about how much they hate it.

AVC: But it’s still easy to take personally.

TH: It’s never fun to read death threats. It was always like, “I hate Tim and Eric, I hope they die, they should die.”

EW: Coming from a 15-year-old kid. Where you hear reaction is on the Internet, and you know who that demographic is. We’ve gotten such a huge positive reaction from people that we respect. A lot of awesome bands and actors have reached out to us; they just want to be on the show because they like it.

TH: Frank Black loves Tom Goes To The Mayor. That’s all I needed to know. You can send me a million notes about how you fucking hate the show, but if Frank Black says it’s okay, I can go home.

The reason some people do searches for “Tim and Eric suck” is because, in fact, Tim and Eric suck. In fact, they suck profoundly. It would be difficult to name a show on television, past or present, that sucks more.

  2. on March 11, 2007 at 2:50 pm lethologica

Oh, well since you said so Dr. Cruel and because so many people searched on it, I guess it must be true. I’m sure everyone who’s been showing up for their tours, watching/posting their videos on YouTube, and searching for “tim and eric torrent” are all connoisseurs of suck and huge masochists to boot! I suppose they must suck to be in the company of such comedic hacks as Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn.

You’ve really turned me around on this, Dr. Cruel. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Where do I mail the check for the wonderful medicine you’ve given me that is my newfound hatred of Tim and Eric.

  3. on March 12, 2007 at 3:54 am Gabriel

They do suck. Would you like this schtick if it was another pair of people?

Don’t compare Tim & Eric to real comdians you stupid hipster

  4. on March 13, 2007 at 4:16 am Lossless

they suck bad. I said so.

  5. on March 14, 2007 at 6:50 am Ryan

Well, I hate to say this, but Bob Odenkirk and David Cross ARE actually hacks. I mean, Mr. Show made me a giggle now and then, and I enjoy Cross’s cameos here and there, but those two will never make it in the big time. They will forever be a couple of bit players and walking inside jokes. Just like Tim and Eric. They have a show now but (and mark my words here!) it won’t last. They’ll probably always have a small (key word, there!), dedicated fan base. But you’ll never see ‘em on the likes of SNL (thank sweet Christ!).

  6. on March 17, 2007 at 5:06 pm StarGemini

Seriously, that decond video THEY DID NOTHING AT ALL FOR LIKE 50 SECONDS.

That is not funny, these two are not funny, they are huge closet cases and really need to get off the stage and come up with something that isnt standing on a stage wearing balled up socks in their pants.

If it was a reference to something it was so obscure that only like 5 people in the audience were laughing at them. I bet it was their parents or relitives at that.

  7. on March 17, 2007 at 9:46 pm lethologica

    Yeah, their “relitives”.

  8. on March 23, 2007 at 10:52 am Jen

I found this site looking up “Tim and Eric” and they cerainly do not suck. Thank you for putting up those videos, I had seen the second one, but not the first. I wish I could have seen them live. They’re hilarious.

  9. on March 24, 2007 at 6:00 pm FWF

The only people who like Tim and Eric are stupid hipsters who pretend to “get it” just so they can get their jollies by feeling superrior to everyone else.

There is nothing funny about Tim and Eric. They’re a walking inside joke.

  10. on March 24, 2007 at 11:36 pm lethologica

You’re absolutely right! It’s a conspiracy to make all of you look stupid.

  11. on April 2, 2007 at 4:12 am phantom240

Tim and Eric suck. Their humor is dry and leaves much to be desired. On top of that, their show on [Adult Swim] sucks so bad that whenever it comes on, I almost feel the need to be emo and gouge my eyes out. Random is one thing; Family Guy is random (to a point) and Robot Chicken is random, but funny. Tim and Eric “Awesome Show” is truly stupid. I think it would possibly make sense or be funny after downing a bottle of vodka, smoking an ounce of pot, then proceeding to drop acid while shooting heroin.. then again you would probably end up dead as well.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job sucks.

Definately NOT great job guys. Sucks even WORSE than Saul of the Molemen, if it is even possible.

  12. on April 5, 2007 at 3:19 am rattfink

Hey Ryan, you’re an idiot. If you think Bob Odenkirk and David Cross suck because they’re not on SNL, you are obviously a dolt. And the fact that you’re thanking Christ because they aren’t on the show, presumably means in your opinion they would ruin the show by being on it. Which means you watch SNL regularly and are quite a fan of the show. Which shows how pitiful your sense of humor is.

  13. on April 8, 2007 at 2:59 am Tyler

Hey, how about this, YOU GUYS SUCK! Tim and Eric is awesome show! They are original, and will continue to be funny, you guys are just taking life too serious, blow off. Tim and Eric you rock me like a hurricane!

  14. on April 8, 2007 at 9:59 pm lethologica

Thanks Tyler, glad to hear more from the silent majority. I’ve ceased responding to the haters until one actually says something that makes sense. So far there’s just a lot of outrage from a few folks that Tim and Eric are very popular and gaining success despite the fact that they themselves don’t get the humor. I have yet to personally meet anyone who doesn’t think they are hilarious.

To me personally, Tim and Eric represent a modernization of comedy. I think as someone in the interactive/graphic design field, I can appreciate the subtle details of the style they are mimicking that a lot of people can’t. I’m not going to apologize for that fact and capitulate to a few bitter assholes who don’t get the work that goes into this comedy and can’t see the whole picture. I’m not going to demand that they like it either! Yes it’s absurd comedy and essentially plotless and even a little gay. So WHAT?! That doesn’t make it inferior or superior to any other form of comedy.

All I can say to you haters is that if you don’t get it, FINE, move on and find something you can laugh at. Go dig up some Dane Cook clips or Larry the Cable guy if you must, but spend your time laughing, not spewing hatred.

  15. on April 10, 2007 at 6:07 am Sean

My god they suck so bad! i wish they would die because of these horrible shows they have made. Its so bad these guys shouldnt even be allowed to TOUCH a damn TV anymore.

  16. on April 13, 2007 at 6:13 am nomore

Honestly they F*%ing Suck Really Really Bad and i Find absolutely no humor in theme and i actually think saul of the mole man is pretty silly but Funny i just cant find no kind of humor in these two Fagot corney idiots.

  17. on April 13, 2007 at 6:24 am icantbelieve

God i cant believe some people actually like these two non humorous morons, for crying out loud pee wee herman is way more funnyer and i rather watch his reruns despite of is personal Life F$#^%ups

  18. on April 15, 2007 at 4:24 am phantom240

Silent majority, eh? If they were the majority, they would be searching in google “Tim and Eric Awesome Show” and getting good results to links that may interest them. On the other hand, when you add the word “sucks” to the end of it, not only is this the third result, but one of over 300,000 results. Their humor is not in any way, shape, or form funny. Its cheesy at best, with themes that make no sense whatsoever, and sometimes if I happen to catch it on TV, it feels as if Im watching an corny early 90’s kids show. Its that bad. You even said it yourself that their humor is “absurd…essentially pointless…” and to top it off “…even a little GAY.” Why watch a gay show? Find something interesting.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t care so much that show sucks if it weren’t on my favorite channel to watch after coming home from a long day of classes and working. When I turn the TV on and the Tim and Eric Lameass show (gay job!) is on, it pisses me off. This is cartoon netwwork, for christ’s sake.. and the [Adult Swim] lineup has always been good to the last show. Now it seems as though theyre letting little emo hipster kids run the lineup with crappy shows like Saul and Lameass show.

  19. on April 16, 2007 at 3:47 am whatthafu@K

dud i was just watching this horrible show like minuets ago and i must say that i felt like breaking my $700 dollar TV

  20. on April 16, 2007 at 3:55 am Hellraiser

What a of Pair of two stupid fags, I think we have to start making a petition to cartoon network to remove this horrible stupid show, these idiots shouldint be making money on television anymore.

  21. on April 16, 2007 at 4:12 am phantom240

    Ill second that, hellraiser. Seriously.

  22. on April 16, 2007 at 6:54 am Jonathan

  23. on April 16, 2007 at 10:23 am Jeff

I just saw this piece of shit for the first time a few hours ago. It truly is the least funny thing I’ve ever seen, precisely because it tries so hard to be outrageous and absurd. ATHF is outrageous and absurd and still hilarious (most of the time). To a lesser degree, so were Futurama and the good ol’ days of the Simpsons. They were funny because they didn’t have to try so hard; the people working on those shows were genuinely funny. These two assholes are nothing but a couple of idiots who think they’ve figured out that the secret is to be as incoherent and random as possible. There’s no secret, though, dipshits. You just aren’t funny. AT ALL. And honestly, I don’t understand people who find this shit funny. I don’t mean to put them down; I just don’t understand them. The same way I don’t understand why anyone would enjoy watching golf.

  24. on April 16, 2007 at 11:54 am lethologica

So Jeff, do you go scouring the internet for “golf sucks” looking to explain to people who like golf why they are dipshits for enjoying something that you don’t? If you haven’t started doing this yet, then I sincerely hope you get started on this important task sooner rather than later. Remember, it’s the things you don’t do that you will regret the most in life.

  25. on April 18, 2007 at 3:13 am AndyCadaver

All Tim and Eric fans should do what Jay and Silent Bob did to their haters. If you hate their shows, then you truly are a douchebag.

  26. on April 18, 2007 at 7:07 am howcaNyall??

How the fuck can you idiots defend these gay fags (nothing against gay people)for crying out loud they really are stupid cmon i mean that dud with glasses just looks like a straight out weirdo.I think that lethologica, and any of you who defend these guys are just Plain confused stupid or either those two idiots in disguise defending them.Theres just no way in hell anyone can like these guys and by the looks of things here for every defender thers like 3 haters so we must be right. BURN IN HELL YOU TIM AND ERIC DEFENDERS!!!!!!!!!!TIM & ERIC SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. on April 18, 2007 at 7:15 am Jonathan

Huh so back again and i must say im not at all in shock theres just some dumb ass people out there im with the haters dud, tim and eric suck balls just accept it.

  28. on April 18, 2007 at 6:20 pm Carl

HowcaNyall, there are 3 haters for every fan of this show because certain people (just like you, my friend!) feel that their time is better spent searching for and posting derogatory things about topics that they don’t understand (i.e. “hate”). The fans aren’t coming to these blogs en masse to rave about how much they love Tim and Eric because they’re out enjoying their lives, watching the show and laughing, or doing something productive.

I don’t like baseball or other huge sports. I’m not plotting to spend my time writing threatening e-mails to FOX about how they are going to lose all of their viewers and money because they aired the Browns vs. Raiders game before the animated comedy block. I change the fucking channel to see if anything I’d find more interesting or funny on until it’s over, read a book, build a robot out of cardboard and duct tape, play a video game, or any one of the millions of other alternative activities available to me. Posting your opinions about something that you don’t like on the blog of one of its fans will get you nowhere in life. It just attracts more dipshits to the cespool you’re pissing out that want to join in on the invisible lynch with their little matching hoods and Hello Kitty purses. Meanwhile you’ve done nothing to sway the people that actually enjoy watching the programming.

    Great job!

Thanks for posting the footage, bro! I’ll have check if they’re coming to Cleveland now. My girlfriend and I go to bed with T&EASGJ looping on shuffle every night and get all excited when a new episode comes out; seeing them live would be a life experience :P

  29. on April 19, 2007 at 6:19 am Chemicalswings

Everyone has their own opinion of what is funny. Personally, I have very little love for hipsters, but Tim and Eric do produce a quality show that gives me a lot of laughs.

Seems most of the T&E haters are focusing on their sexuality (whether they are gay or not is not an issue to me) which proves that rednecks and racists don’t get witty, avant-garde humor. You would have been spitting on Andy Kaufman when he was raising hell and now the internet gives you the freedom to make inane comments about art that you could never produce, let alone fathom.

Note the commonality of spelling errors that seem to originate from the Tim and Eric haters and you will begin to detect a pattern. Read a book, for the love of Pete.

Stupidity knows no bounds when it comes to internet flame wars.

  30. on April 19, 2007 at 8:47 am Pali

lethologica is right, it’s the vocal minority who are making their voices heard here and on the [as] message boards. It’s not like I haven’t made an attempt to defend the show at times, but I give up pretty quickly because it’s utterly hopeless. It seems like Tim & Erics shows provoke such extreme hate in people and I have great difficulty figuring out why. I think part of the reason is betrayed in some of the responses here, calling them ‘closet cases’ or ‘fags.’ I’m reassured in my own intelligence and good sense in loving this show when I see responses like that. Not that I’m saying all people who dislike this show are homophobes or immature children who become scared upon seeing anything they don’t understand immediately. Some people just dislike the show because it doesn’t appeal to their sense of humour, those people however, you won’t find ranting on about how much it ’sucks’ on an internet message board. They’re probably using that same time to discuss something they actually like.

As for people who are arguing that Tim & Erics show is wasting their time; how about you simply change the channel when the show is on? Or do you think your rights as a citizen of the free world to watch the same channel continuously for hours on end are being challenged when a TV station puts on a show you don’t like?

And those calling for it to be cancelled immediately, how about you respect those who dearly love the show? If Tim & Eric’s show was losing [as] money or tarnishing their reputation, do you really believe they would have just ordered 30 more episodes?

Tim & Eric are doing something new and truely unique with this show, add to that the fact that I find it hilarious and in my opinion this is one of the best shows [as] has ever had.

  31. on April 19, 2007 at 9:57 pm Salt Chunk Mary

Y’all are a bunch of nerds of the worst kind. Tim and Eric aren’t awesome, and they don’t suck. Awesome and suck are relative; everyone has their own opinions. Only egomaniacle nerds who fail to see their own nerliness argue whether something is definitively good or bad. Seriously. Get off your fucking high horse. You’re not the arbiter of cool, and no one gives a fuck about your opinion. All of you, on both sides of this “debate”.

  37. on April 29, 2007 at 6:18 pm Mors

Adult Swim, if you run across this on google…TIM AND ERIC SUCK! You’re forcing me to change the channel, first time Adult Swim has ever really let me down. Possibly the worst show I’ve ever seen…regardless of what wannabe hipster faggots on this page might say, the show does indeed SUCK beyond belief.

  38. on April 30, 2007 at 4:07 am asshole

any word on when they are gonna finally cancel this and any other future stupid shows from Tim and Eric?

  46. on May 1, 2007 at 6:48 pm modertatethis

    tim and eric are stupid

  47. on May 2, 2007 at 11:55 pm skeletor

    Its simple.
People who get Tim & Eric, dont feel the need to scream & shout because we are content to accept people have different tastes.
If you like midget wrestling, SNL, or tadpole racing. Thats your opinion, its your life do what you want with it.
But dont be a humor nazi, and hold other Tim & Eric accountable for your own sexual preference insecurities.

Having said that, I have found a few of the episodes recently a little lack luster, and feel they need to drop all the cameos, and focus more on their own humor. But once again this is my opinion, and if you disagree with it, thats your opinion.
    Im fine with that.
    Unlike some.

I’m constantly getting more and more amazed at how these stupid shows actually get on the air in the first place? What happened to shows that actually were funny and took talent to make? Are people that stupid and bored now that they have to watch mindless shit that these idiots somehow got aired?? Seriously now. I’m sure the ratings show that as soon as shows like these come on, people change the channel.

to the guy who way saying that bob and david or tim and eric would never amount to “snl” status…well. remember the chris farly “van down by the river” sketch? Bob odenkirk wrote that as well as many more of the snl fav’s. he was a head writer on snl…

  52. on May 12, 2007 at 2:34 pm me

some individuals are not humored again and again with traditional comedy and seek the very very strange and rediculous stuff….I like tim and eric because they are fucking retarted…it’s just a matter of opinion..no need to argue

  53. on May 21, 2007 at 4:53 am theSuck

“i am theSuck. i am the apotheosis of hipster. when i see anything artsy, humorous, subversive, postmodern, etc i can’t help but strip off all my clothes, masturbate, and cum all over myself. i am so cool and hip and chic. i am so smart and full of wit. shows like Tim and Eric on Adult Swim give me a total hard on.”

    STFU!

i hate this show. of course, we must grant the principle of charity and for the sake of aesthetics, concede that humor is subjective and certain people can find this show entertaining. none-the-less, every single person (many) i have spoken with cannot stand to watch Tim and Eric. Hence, relatively speaking, the show does suck. I only wish more surveys were available.

we can only hope this show is canceled.

  54. on May 21, 2007 at 7:17 am timericsaulsuckass

god what has happened to adult swim…. tim and eric and saul of the mole men…. its cheesy…i cant believe people find that stuff funny, it’s cheap and cheesy………………….Robot Chicken…now thats funny!!!!

  55. on May 28, 2007 at 3:52 pm Andariel Halo

I keep watching Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show Great Job, and it continues to astound me with how terrible it is… nothing is funny on it—nothing at all. I can’t even smile! I actually liked Tom Goes to the Mayor, but this one is just… it’s really bad. What is funny about an ugly nerdy black guy sitting against a cheap 80s effect background of stars with a fucking ugly cat dummy singing a dull song about aliens in a monotone voice for two minutes?

  56. on June 4, 2007 at 7:09 am Alex

The show is the antithesis of comedy. Non-sequitor after non-sequitor. Nonsense does not necessarily equate to comedy. I like a broad range of comedy, including Saul of the Mole Men (to some extent), and other Adult Swim bits, but Tim and Eric are simply terrible. Just awful. Not hip. Not edgy. Not boundary pushing.

It’s not art. It’s not funny. It’s not cute. It is quite simply a waste of programming time and a crime against the myriad “concept comedy” alternatives that are much more worthy of audience exposure. Is there a direct way to contact Cartoon Network or do these guys have family in upper management or something?

  57. on June 11, 2007 at 7:24 pm rechevar666

what’s up with lethologica. Can’t this clown critique anything more than typos made in the frenzy of responding to his nuggets of snobbery. I know alot of people who are very smart but lousy at typing. Perhaps the converse is true of this snob. “Look mommy I can type!!! Time to change my diapers.”

  58. on June 11, 2007 at 8:08 pm pukey

Thank you for puttting Lethologica in his place. By the way shouldn’t it be Lethologico with an “o” at the end. Unless of course you are a crossdresser. Which is fine with me, ya know whatever rocks your boat so if you chica.
You go girl but how abut this for a name Letho-illogica. I think this comes closer to the truth.

Hmm now that I’m done with the trash. where to begin. As yes, Tim and Eric ….yes, yes Tim and Eric don’t suck. I mean their show doesn’t suck it’s well made I like some of the animation. It’s just not funny. It’s intentionally oblique and that’s what one does when one doesn’t have anything to say and has to spend their budget anyway. Kind of when a pc repairman tells you what’s wrong with your computer and you don’t really know what they are talking about but you pay for the work anyway. “You” being the network execs
Some think they’re as funny or absurd as Monty Python or at least some people elevate their work to this level as a means of explaining why the rest of us don’t get it. Afterall, if we didn’t get Python how could we possibly understand the comic genius of T&E.
Well I’m sure I “got” Python and most comedy I’ve seen because I have a good sense of humor. I’ll even laugh at corny jokes because that’s their charm or fart jokes because they make my girlfriend laugh. But when Tim and Eric’s show hits the air all we can do is look at eachother and wonder how it ever got the greenlight. It’s not bad it’s just harmlessly stupid or unfunny at best. And all this talk about them being gay is probably far from the truth. They’re probably very straight and just think that a man in drag is inherently funny. You know like their Pyhton heroes or worse yet like the those fratboy jocks in Revenge of the Nerds.

So let’s stop the hating. T&E are trying their best. They just can’t live up to their show title. which I suspect they got from a leftover memo scribbled by some network exec : Dear Time and Eric stop Great show stop Awsome job stop (making any more shows) stop please stop.

    Correction:

Thank you for puttting Lethologica in his place. By the way shouldn’t it be Lethologico with an “o” at the end. Unless of course you are a crossdresser. Which is fine with me, ya know whatever rocks your boat so if you’re chica.

Oh please Letho-illogica don’t fret over my typos for it is not a sign of illiteracy but rather an overly quick typing style and big fat digits.

There were some very good points made in the subject of Tim and Eric not being ‘funny’ because of lack of edginess, wit, etc. I agree that most of their sketches make no sense whatsoever. I find it hard to laugh at something that makes ABSOLUTELY no sense whatsoever. Monty Python made more sense. Granted, I wasn’t even born when Monty was popular, nor have I lived in england. Take for example that “gravy robbers” sketch. It was horrible. No intellectual humor, no ‘typical humor’.. nothing to make it worth watching. Its just a fat ugly guy informing people how to steal gravy. Gravy isn’t funny. There are many other things that are off the beaten path that would be funny.

And for Lethologica, all I have to say is that you’re a douche. Not everyone that bashes Tim and Eric calls them gay or is illiterate. For the most part, when we call them ‘gay’ we don’t mean in a man-love-homosesexual kind of way… well most of us that is. They can be whatever sexual orientation they want, but that still wont change the fact that their humor sucks big floppy donkey phallus.

I applaud the blogger’s enthusiasm in looking at what pages most people were directed here from. One of my favorite, useless pastimes involves typing a phrase into the Google search toolbar and seeing what it offers me in the “Auto-Complete” menu. The phrase “Tim and Eric Awesome Show Sucks” didn’t surprise me one bit, but I was very surprised to see you recognize this on site.
Undoubtedly this caused a little start in those wee nooblets that came unsuspecting to this page.

I must comment on the content of the show; it is weird for the sake of being weird, and often misses the mark. Obviously its many fans can find a charm in the show that eludes me, just as I often find charm in areas that other people reject as “unfunny”. Who are we to judge? People tend to seek out others that share their beliefs, and, in finding them, strengthen those same beliefs. Let us keep perspective, however; after all, it is only a show.

  62. on July 23, 2007 at 6:31 am KHAn!!!

Tim and Eric Suck. Maybe 1 in 50 things they do is semi-funny. The “My legs are long” thing made me smile. Even that is nothing to write home about.

  63. on July 26, 2007 at 7:14 am Tiffy!

These guys are great and its not a matter of people trying to ‘get it’ or them being ‘hipsters’ (Who the fuck says that anymore by the way? Are you all old farts, is that your problems? ) , they have a random sort of comedy, thats the best way i can describe it.. i honestly think the problem isnt them, its you. Maybe you guys need to losen the hell up and stop thinking so much and amybe then you can enjoy them. They must be doing somthing right, they have alot of fans.

  64. on July 30, 2007 at 10:27 pm Mike

this show is great and to everyone who doesnt like them, you’re all living meaningless non important lives. just take it for what it is. i love this show and i will not watch it leave. most of you people dont take into account how good tom goes to the mayor was. and most of you are most likely responsible for having that pulled off too. you watch your shows and well watch ours.

  65. on July 31, 2007 at 4:56 am Dave

I think it’s inspired genius with impeccable timing and delivery. I have no idea what software they’re employing to capture that amazing VCR infomercial vibe, but I absolutely appreciate it. On another note, is anyone else with a conscience and one third of an education scared shitless by the fact that no one in America can spell to save their bible-belted, simmeringly latent-homosexual asshole? Or is there a program at most schools where classes of angry, retarded 8th graders get rewarded with snacks for posting on blogs? I’m serious, if someone could let me know. Sometimes I wish I had the power to see the face of someone who leaves a comment on these things, just so I could go – “see. I fucking knew it”. It’s misanthropic to think that these fuckwads are going to reproduce and populate north america. These are the people that made Nickelback famous, right?

  66. on August 13, 2007 at 1:10 am phantom240

I can spell just fine, thank you. And for future reference, I live in what you people call the ‘Bible Belt’. In all honesty, I find it offensive that you would stereotype all of us who happen to reside here as uneducated hillbillies who are ‘Jesus freaks.’ I don’t know who all is posting here, but I am a 19 year old male, who dropped out of high school, yet my posts here are more coherent and organized than many of other one-liners here. Maybe it is my meticulous nature that leads me to want to type in a (mostly) grammatically correct manner.

‘Tim and Eric Awesome Show’ still sucks, no matter what drugs you’re on when you watch it.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show is pretty good. Its not for everybody. Im aware that some people out there dont like it, but who the fuck are you? who cares if you like it or not? go fuck yourselves, all of you.

  69. on September 2, 2007 at 5:45 am deek

tim and eric are brilliant. I rarely laugh out loud to anything, but consistently do with their show. It is definitely on the edge of conventional humor, but if you open your mind and just try to go with it, you will appreciate them as amazingly sharp writers.

To each his own, but I am really glad that they have a forum to put forth their work.

  70. on September 10, 2007 at 6:17 am Christopher

I am, in no way, a critic and my opinion matters about as much as any other of these internet losers (if I may be a hypocrit for a second) but I can’t say I’m a fan of “Tim and Eric”. You may find this weird since I love everyone they work with (David Cross, Patton Ozwalt, Brian Posehn, and Zach Galifianakis.) They’re work may one day become some cult classic of some kind but they’re off the wall, dry, awkward, and absurd comedy almost hurts. I will give them credit for their new Tim and Eric awesome show which is a little less painful then Tom Goes to the Mayor. Guess being some what of a writer I apprecaite a little more thought and work in my comedic television shows, but at the same time I’m also a big fan of improv…well good improv (i.e. second city, upright citizens brigade theater, et cetera) and even improv inspired comedies like The State but Tim and Eric’s shows just seem like someone gave them a camera and Carrot Tops old prop box and let them film their random absurd half-baked esoteric ideas and threw on TV after an hour of half-assed editing (which is, i’m sure, what they were going for). I’m sure who ever came up with the “Blog” and “Fourm” idea thought it would be a great medium for exchange of public opinions but we all know it’s just medium for anyone who can use a computer to be heartless uneducated racisit people to flame other individuals for their put together cognitive opinons. All i know is they’re doing fine without me as a fan and I’m sure they could care less after all no one is forcing me to watch it and if I wanted to laugh I’d just watch something that fits my taste.

Congrats to them on their success though, can’t say I’m not envious of that.

  71. on September 14, 2007 at 5:00 am Iovan

The show is unbelievably stupid, as is Tom Goes to the Mayor, as is Saul of the Molemen. AS is going downhill with shows like these, and I wouldn’t be surprised if those picking the shows know they suck but don’t care. There are always obsessive halfwits who will waste a season of their time watching the show hoping it will be good while the rest of us wish our good shows were still on that time slot.

Or hell something new that doesn’t suck. But I won’t hold my breath. It seems that the AS staff is still living it up, high on cocaine and heroin from their sucessful years to give a shit at all anymore.

They treat any sign of failure for these shows with disdain for the viewer, as if we should just smile and eat the shit. Apparently we should be grateful that such retarded shows take up important timeslots. Not like we want to watch anything actually funny or exciting in their stead. No, let’s watch retards for 15 minutes to half and hour, content that the AS staff has gotten their monthly cocaine money.

  72. on September 24, 2007 at 5:57 am Dan

I just read everything everyone wrote. Why? Because its 12:30 here, and now is the time when I turn Adult Swim off because Tim and Eric are on, followed by Tom Goes to the Mayer. So I figured I had a half hour to kill.

I have given both shows a try. TGTTM has made me laugh before, however, so has the local news. I don’t go out of my way to watch it, because its not worth it overall. Tim and Eric never makes me laugh.

I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said before. Just seemed worth it to add one more signature to the pseudo-petition that both shows are terrible, and should be removed from the [as] line-up.

    db

  73. on September 24, 2007 at 8:47 am Christophe

I appreciate tim and eric. I’d like to see them be able to keep their paltry 30 min a week on a horrible time slot. I read all these comments , trying to figure out what motivates someone who does not like the show to be so vocal about it. If it was the case that it’s just “stupid”, then that fails as explanation, because 99% of anything I’ve ever seen on television is just bad, and assumes it’s audience needs obvious “jokes” and will sometimes assist them with laugh tracks. Even SNL does this because they indicate to the studio audience when they should be laughing. Why? Because it’s all stupid comedy for stupid people. The execs have studied you and realized you are all morons, and have developed a lot of programming just for you. Tim and Eric somehow bypassed that process, and my assumption is that people who have aggressive hatred toward it feel somehow violated. Something like “how can this have happened? this is not something for me. I feel threatened” If not, why do you people try to get the show removed. Just keep watching reruns of family guy, and leave us in peace.

  74. on October 8, 2007 at 3:32 am haze03

its ironic that you say if you dont like it, go watch larry or dane cook. Dane cook first of all is a tool and wtf is with the joke about crying (the world is tapping you on the shoulder to cry wtf). Anyways if anything Dane Cook and Tim and Eric are identical in humor because they aren’t comedians, they are performers. Didnt say they were good at it either. They were nothing compared to Chris Farly. I have no idea why people can find this stuff funny there is no intelligence behind their humor, just acting like idiots to get a laugh. If i wanted that kind of humor, i would pay a 5 year old to do the same things they do. Last thing, just because there are fans at the show, doesn’t still account for the amount of people that hate it. You take that crowd of people, pit it against the rest of the world and you got a sliver of appreciation for their show. I feel sorry for your closed mindedness

Btw Chris, people hate the show and are “vocal” about it because if AS picks up any more of this crap, AS watchers don’t want to be around for it. More people hate it then like it and its wasting space for good shows.

  75. on November 2, 2007 at 6:49 am Maelstrom of error

I think one thing that is maybe a little forgotten here is the fact that when asked, the people defending the show so vehemently cant pinpoint why any given sketch is funny, but can only respond with “oh you just don’t get it”. Weirdness is one thing but there has to be a reason why its funny not just that it makes you smirk a little inside at the fact that its odd or unexpected. Thats not humor, and there is no “hidden jokes” its just a formless excuse for a show and its really lame. I challenge you to find a reason for something being funny in this show, if you can good for you it means that something in there struck a chord with you personally, but to say that there is some inherent comedy in these aimless sketches with the two of them making “funny faces” is just fallacy. I laugh more at the antics of children acting out and most the time they aren’t even trying.

P.S. They aren’t pioneers either, Andy Milonakis did this kind of “humor” first and it was wasn’t as lame. Its like watching someones else’s home video and not laughing when they think something is funny. Inside jokes are not for TV!!

  76. on November 6, 2007 at 7:16 am Michael

You know, for as crappy as their show really is, and it is f-ing awful, they’re still having the last laugh because they somehow are getting enough people to buy into there incoherent nonsensical comedy that

    A) they are on TV constantly
    B) they’re making loads of money without much talent
    C) homosexuality is in style now a days, if they like sucking cox to get ahead in life, who are we to argue

I know that I could make a better product than either of their shows that I’ve seen in less than a month, given the right production crew. Why don’t I? I don’t know the right people. And that’s what got them on the air in the first place. Their shows are just like the crap you hear on the radio. Someone’s promoting them the right way and they’ve got connections.

They’ll be on the air sucking the life out of the Adult Swim audience for a while along with the other awful shows they thrown up in the past year. At least long enough to change the core viewers of Adult Swim from competent people who like cartoons to lazy college freshmen who can be brainwashed into buying their advertising techniques.

Keep on sucking Tim and Eric, god knows I can’t stop you by bitching. Hopefully there’s plenty of room in that closet for all of your celebrity friends.

  77. on November 9, 2007 at 10:45 am 666

Wow… Homophobia as a point against comedians… Way to really hit your point home, redneck.

Tim & Eric are inventive, obtuse and exciting, unlike ‘comedians’ who for the most part are just jerks repeating other peoples shit.

If you don’t understand or like the humour, then don’t watch it, but how does that harm you? Why get angry? I just don’t get it.

  78. on November 10, 2007 at 4:22 pm Whoa!

I actually DID search for Tim and Eric suck! I was looking for hate sites.

Because they do suck, I hope you know that.

    Oh I understand the humor.

    “LOL this is SO bad!”

It’s so hard to watch it, because every joke is that joke. It gets so old. So fast. Weee wacky 90s powerpoint graphics… Again… And again…

    Not funny.

  79. on November 16, 2007 at 3:46 pm Zak

whichever of the two got stabbed, tim or eric i forget, i wish they were stabbed to death. the person that committed that crime was such a bitch for not finishing the job. also, please stop calling them”fags” or “faggots”, there’s no need for using that word ever, and it just makes you look stupid and ignorant.

but tim and eric do need to go eat a big bag of dicks and die.

  80. on November 16, 2007 at 11:46 pm Slio

I never gave the show a real chance and will attempt to do so, but I find it difficult to watch what amounts to the same retarded shit that you can spend countless hours browsing utube for. I could be wrong maybe they are the geniuses that thier fan base claims they are, but here is the thing; if you are bold enough to sit there telling people that they are stupid for not “getting it” then why not explain what there is to get rather than just disqualifying anyone who doesn’t like thier show as stupid and incapable of higher thought. Why not show us your superior reasoning skills by taking the time to explain what it is about thier shows and brand of comedy that draws you and attmept to make us understand. It is possible to draw fans in from sites like this rather than forever alienating them by insulting thier intelligence- if you truly are fans of Tim and Eric maybe you should try to add to thier success.

  81. on November 19, 2007 at 9:37 pm Me

So, I did find this site after searching for “tim eric show suck” or something like that. I have watched Tim and Eric’s Awesome show and thought it had a number of skits that were pretty funny. A friend of mine who is really into them bought three tickets to their live show in St. Louis on Saturday night. The venue Offbroadway was terrible. It was small and very hot with little room. They definitely oversold and even had to turn people away at the door. I did not expect so many people to be there. The word “hipster” has been thrown around a lot in the comments here and I would have to agree that on the surface it appeared that was over 50% of the audience. You did have some college frat boy types and members of the gay and lesbian community. The show opened with DJ dogpound or whatever his name was. He was absolutely horrible. He kept trying to engage the audience in knock, knock jokes and other malformed attempts at humor. The audience was not too receptive and just kept waiting in anticipation for Tim and Eric. When they finally came on my balls were sitting in about 4 feet of my sweat and probably other peoples sweat as well.(gross i know) They did a skit about a kid in catholic school drawing penises all the time and then launched into…….videos of their show! Awesome. So I paid $15 or whatever to see something I could pull up on Youtube. Ok. Granted they were skits I had never seen before and may or may not be on Youtube. They had some funny skits(one with Dwight from the Office was particularly funny) but on the whole it was very disappointing. I would say that in 12 minute increments Tim and Eric can be very funny but in an hour long format, not so much.

  82. on November 21, 2007 at 5:55 pm eric

I think that T&EASGJ is a youtube series at best. There’s tons of other programming that could be playing instead. Good programming that anyone (well, anyone that likes [as]) could enjoy. And why not give aspiring artists a chance? There’s hundreds of EXCELLENT animators out there that would love nothing more than to get a chance on [adult swim]. If you don’t believe me, go to http://www.newgrounds.com.

I don’t think that this show deserves airtime. I think it would be good on the internet, but I don’t like the idea of it on tv when there are hundreds of other things that could be on.

  83. on November 22, 2007 at 11:29 am Taco

The “productions” of Tim and Eric are an affront to comedy. Their touted flavor of “absurd” comedy is not at all what they in truth are presenting, and to think as much is in fact, absurd. They are simply “awkward” comedians, superfluously and deliberately bloating their “skits” with as much artificial awkwardness as is allowed. It is every bit as funny as watching the everyday lives of two awkward High School kids who’ve yet to find their niche in life, the only difference is that T&E are getting paid some amount to exagerratedly replicate it and shell it out in televised form. For that type of comedy, one need only watch Saved by The Bell and eshew any concern for the majority of the cast aside from Screech. Obviously Screech was a comedic mastermind and there was grand depth and wit to the character he portrayed! Shame be upon you low-brow scum for your inferior critique, for this man’s creation is inviolably the most brilliant of things to reach out to you with it’s serendipitous commercial telivision arm! The only reasonable way to deal with this is, of course, to change the channel when their show comes on. Or for everyone who is ostensibly finding this as a result in “Tim and Eric suck” on Google searches to start up a petition to have them taken out of the timeslot, though that is unlikely to occur for any number of reasons.

  84. on November 23, 2007 at 9:57 am SplishSplash

Personally I think [AS] should stick to actual animated shows.

I just don’t like Tim & Eric ever since they tried TGttM.

They always try to aim towards an older audience , I just don’t think T&E fit for that.

  85. on November 24, 2007 at 6:44 pm lethologica

    A petition.

To remove an 11 minute show.

Cheese and Rice you people are pathetic. Move on, hate something else do something productive with your internets time.

And [as] doesn’t have some fucking social obligation to put forward every aspiring animator. They put up what they think is funny. You’re welcome to not agree with it and watch something else. I don’t know what most of you people consider to be worthy comedy but you’ve got to learn to accept that there’s stuff out there that’s not for you. For me that would be Dane Cook, but I’m not googling “dane cook sucks” on the evenings and weekends. No, my revenge is much more subtle I DON’T WATCH HIS STUFF!

  86. on November 25, 2007 at 6:08 am nomoarkittiesplz

Although Tim and Eric’s show is funny in it’s own right, the degree of hatred it inspires is even funnier. To think that an eleven minute show could generate this much hilarious vitriol brings me tears. But not tears of sadness. These are tears of LAUGHTER!
Let us look at the situation even more closely. The blog that this debate has unfolded on is not a heavy traffic site. All of the activity and discussion seems to have spawned from a simple post deriding the critics of Tim and Eric. I shouldn’t even say deriding as that’s not a very accurate portrayal of the entry. It is merely a defense of their comedy. A quick glance of most recent comments demonstrates this point. Nearly every comment has been about Tim and Eric. Not the war in Iraq, mind you, but two men whose job is to make you laugh.
To everyone who has posted. Do you not see what fools you have made of yourselves? This much commitment to hating a comedy duo borders on the absurd! Andy Kaufman absurd! Not that I’m making a comparison, but I can’t help but draw the parallels. Tim and Eric make their fans laugh, and their critics furious! Bravo to you Tim and Eric! Your show is funny, but your critics are even funnier!

  87. on November 25, 2007 at 7:32 am Geez

Last guy is really bitter about his crappy program not being liked…

Bro take a chill pill. You’ll feel a lot better when you’ve calmed down.

Oh and Tim and Eric still kind of suck… Sorry.

  88. on November 25, 2007 at 11:32 pm MorgyPorgy

I like them. This is the one of the few things on Adult Swim that isn’t watered down and cornball. Tim and Eric are creating comedy that appeals to me, and that doesn’t happen often. This shouldn’t be slid into the lineup as late as it is. They are magnificent, and TGTTM and Awesome Show are going up on the same shelf as Arrested Development and Mr. Show. It’s fresh and ahead of its time.

  89. on November 26, 2007 at 5:32 am Fred

I swear to God that the Adult Swim producers were having a meeting when two janitors walked by. The producers noticed that the janitors were particularly good at giving head, and so decided to give them a show. That show was TGTTM. Since that time, the duo have exponentially increased their fellatio deliveries in both quantity and quality. As a consequence, we now have Great Job season two. I’d say fuck the producers, but that’s how we got into this mess in the first place.

  90. on November 27, 2007 at 8:00 am IrTechie

I just dont think this has a place with adult swim at all. Especially when home movies, and sealab were cancelled. Its really just a stupid show. My Friends and I have purposely turned out cable boxes to other channels when it comes on, even though we would glide through most of the dumb 15 minute shows that adult swim would play.

Squidbillies waas bad, but tolerable, even 12 ounce mouse is better than this crap. I cant see how Jack Black and these guys are even friends.

  91. on November 28, 2007 at 12:55 am NeoDeltaI

I gave the clips a try, and I’m quite content in my evaluation. Tim & Eric are not funny, talented, or hard working.

    First Clip:
3 minutes and 45 seconds, and what happens? First, a song with only three lines of lyrics, none of which are funny. Is this supposed to be funny because his “baby” is the other one in drag? Men in wigs is not funny without context. Monty Python’s Flying Circus, The State, and SNL (sometimes) have all executed crossdressing with some underlying context, and it’s been funny. Putting a guy in a wig and having another guy sing a simple song about it is not funny. I could easily spend 10 minutes and come up with a funnier sketch, including song lyrics of a higher caliber.

But maybe T&E fans are right, and I somehow don’t get the humor. Explain it to me. Explain to me how 3 minutes and 45 seconds of a guy singing a simplistic song to another guy in drag is funny, because people laughing in the video doesn’t cut it for me. With enough mind altering substances, anything can make people laugh. Explain why anyone stone sober would find the slightest hint of talent in this video.

    Second Clip:
Uncle Muscle Hour… Is the comedy here because it has nothing to do with an Uncle? Or Muscles? Or that it’s 3 minutes and 42 seconds of two guys doing really basic choreography, not an hour? Again, nothing about this video is funny, because there is no context, which is the nail in the coffin. If Tim and Eric spent more than 10 minutes coming up with this, I’d be amazed.

My personal theory is this: Because it’s so bad, it must be good. Some people are so egotistical, they want to like something that most people hate. Or the opposite, they want to hate something that most people like. This is the ONLY reason I’ve determined that people claim Tim & Eric are funny, since no one can seem to explain WHY they find it funny.

There is nothing to “get”. Tim and Eric are a one-trick pony: Cheap obscure dadaism. They could take an apple and hold it to their foreheads for 10 minutes, and their fans would claim it was the funniest sketch ever.

  92. on November 28, 2007 at 3:52 pm lethologica

I’ll explain exactly why this show is funny, ready?

    I laugh at it.

If I didn’t, then it wouldn’t have been funny.

This is a tough equation, I realize, so I’ll give you a moment.

A slightly more in depth answer would be that I am a fan of how they mimic poor video production. I love the absurdity of their sketches, and especially fond of their use of authentically awkward people. Maybe I’ve just worked in video production long enough to appreciate how the show is produced and the humor that lies in their choices of effects and edits. It’s on a lot of levels, and depending on your point of view I’m either lucky or cursed that I appreciate T&E’s brand of humor.

Now go postulate some more complex theories about why people are in mass psychological conspiracies to like things that are bad just to fuck with all the people who aren’t in the conspiracy. If you think it’s bad, don’t watch it. Why not make your own damn comedy show if you’re all such an authority on what is and is not funny?

  93. on November 29, 2007 at 7:46 am Dazani

Tim and Eric have zero talent. Period.

How they actually managed to get airtime with this unentertaining crap is astounding.

This new show is actually worse than Tom Goes to the Mayor, which immediately caused me to start hammering buttons on my remote to get my TV pointed somewhere worthwhile.

Family Guy & Futurama are my only reasons for tuning in to AS, Robot Chicken has made me chuckle a few times but I don’t program my auto tuner for it.

  94. on December 1, 2007 at 5:14 am TonyBLAIR

How the fuck can anyone say that TAEASGJ or TGTTM is worse than robot chicken or Family Guy, Futurama maybe, but Family Guy, like cartoon wars pointed out is a hodge podge of retarded references and fart jokes, don’t get me wrong I used to love Family Guy until fox brought them back. Robot Chicken doesn’t need an explaination, Seth green has never been remotely funny. To the contrary, Tim and Eric are Brilliant in their simplicity, and shouldn’t be taken seriously. I used to hate their shows until I actually sat down and whatched a full season. It seems to me that the ignorant masses are those who control what we have to watch and they
(all of you who say that tim and eric suck) are all fucking retards that’s why family guy started to suck so bad (to please you ignorant assholes). Furthermore, people only hate tim and eric for one simple reason, they don’t understand that it’s actually more difficult to produce shows like Tim and Eric, witch are actually trying to show you how idiotic T.V. has gotten over the years, maybe that’s why you don’t like it (you’re to much of a fucking idiot to understand it).

Oh yeah even when I didn’t like their shows I still had respect for what they were doing, so to go as far as blogging about how they hate them and think they suck so bad is really just showing your lack of cognative capacity.

    LOL

    Hi, Tim. (TonyBLAIR)

You and your gaypal still suck.

And you know that you two incompetent fucks are going to get cancelled and sent back to Wendy’s.

lethologica, congrats on 100 replies to your blog. I bet you never thought it would happen.

You need to understand, its a point of view issue here. You think its funny, most people don’t. A lot of posters here think other shows are better. You don’t. Its not something arguing about is going change. Any time you reply here, you just bolster your opponents’ petition.

People have every right to hate the show, and to petition it. T&E supporters who try to make fun of them for petitioning it, trying to compare it to the war in iraq or something else easy to point to as being more important are also entitled to their opinions.

[as] doesn’t have a responsibility to air new stuff. But they do it anyway. They gave T&E a try. Soon they’ll be off the air. The system is self correcting.

I saw someone’s earlier post commenting on how as a Graphic Artists he somehow “got” the subtle visual reference jokes. Well, I’m also an artist, and there was nothing subtle about them.

I gave this show an honest chance (watched about 7 episodes before throwing in the towel), and what struck me about it was how repetetive it was. They have the underlying theme of “cheesy 80s/90s infomercial”, and they milk that same soft punchline in skit after skit.

Call it avant garde if you like, but another word would be redundant and uninspired.

Much like how anyone who violently flings paint at a canvas can be considered an abstract artist (ooh, so deep and brooding), I suppose anyone who dresses in a unitard, dances over a technicolor video backdrop, and fakes vomitting every so often can be considered a cutting edge comedian.

I usually like David Cross & Bob Odenkirk, but this show really hits a flat note with me. It reminds me of the saying “you can’t overcome a lack of talent by doubling your efforts”. Seems like T&E is the literal representation of that saying.

^^Yukon I’m with you on this one! I’m a huge fan of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. Mr.Show is awesome, as well as Run Ronnie Run. But Tim And Eric’s Awesome Show is the worst excuse for a television show I’ve ever seen…well, maybe not as bad as most reality shows, but, it’s pretty horrible. They occasionally make me laugh, but not enough for me to be able to make it through an entire episode. Keep in mind I’ve watched 4 or 5 episodes all the way through, hoping it would “click” and I would find the show funny, like when I finally started liking a Saul of the Molemen.

I do have to disagree with you in one respect Yukon. You say they milk the same punchline over and over, but to me it seems there IS no punchline to any of their skits. It usually starts with something random, for example, when they were supposed to be some generic 80’s synth/keytar band, and then out of nowhere, it cuts to them wearing football helmets (in a completely different setting, as completely different characters) and vomiting up brown goo. Now, as far as fake vomiting goes, this was the worst, lamest fake vomiting i’ve ever seen! They managed to take an immature (funny) classic and make it embarassing to watch! What’re they gonna ruin now? Farting? Fat jokes? This show could be 2 retarded guys on public access for all I know.

Oh, and “TonyBlair”, if you’re going to try and insult someone else’s level of intelligence at least spell “cognitive” right.

To say someone “doesn’t understand” Tim and Eric’s Awesome show is like saying someone doesn’t understand 2 autistic kids rolling around on the ground in their own shit.

I do agree with you however that Family Guy went downhill after they came back and that Seth Green is a talentless hack, but why would you try to defend something that tries so hard to be clever and funny, but really just ends up looking like a Kids in the Hall/Upright Citizen’s Brigade ripoff?

AND DANE COOK DOES FUCKING SUCK!!

Okay, so here is my well-written, thoughtful, and honest reply to all this nonsense:

I found this page not while searching for “Tim and Eric” or even “Tim and Eric suck.” I found this while searching for “why are tim and eric funny?” I have to say, I’m disappointed. I’ll admit that I did not go through and read ALL the posts, but after reading the first 20 or so, I just couldn’t go on and have any hope of maintaining faith in my fellow human beings.

I don’t like Tim and Eric. I don’t think they’re funny, and here’s why: I don’t think they’re good at what they do. Honestly, I get it. I see the postmodernism, I see the self-satire, I see the social criticism. I just don’t think it’s executed well and you’re forced to either wade through that to find the funny yourself or you just have to enjoy it on such a dumb level that it’s hard for me to get there. Stephen Colbert achieves a lot of very similar ideas that Tim and Eric are using, but he does it FAR more effectively.

Honestly! This is the way I see it. And I think that you guys who post here saying “you must be hating just for the sake of hate,” you’re wrong. I’m posting here and I will continue to post and write because I’ve been watching Adult Swim for years, even before it was Adult Swim and they just ran some anime and Space Ghost Coast to Coast at about midnight. This show is the ONLY one that I skip when I set my computer to record on Sunday nights. I don’t like that. I don’t like that it takes money and time away from programming that I could enjoy more.

So there. That’s a thought out response and not some diatribe from some anonymous Dorito-munching, Halo-playing douchebag who’s just going to sit here as an exclamation point on his caricature and call it “gay.” Do with it what you will
