All the haters of Tim and Eric just don’t get their show.

The greatest thing about the haters is that they’re fans of Family Guy, Robot Chicken and other melodramatic, cookie cutter shit like Entourage.

I’ll go on watching shows like this, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the Mighty Boosh… and you haters can go play with yourselves while watching that oh-so-subversive Seth MacFarlane! His humor is so fresh and dangerous!

Anti-comedy isn’t in your vocabulary so why explain it? You cocksuckers are just mad, because Adult Swim got rid of your favorite anime which makes you closet homos cry.

I just don’t like it….period,
I’ve Tried, and some skits are funny and DO make me laugh but if I Laugh for only 30 seconds out of A 900 Second show ( Including commercials and bumps) that’s only 3%….
In Retail if something accounts for just 1-3 % of Profit…the item is discontinued and replaced with a more profitable appealing product…..anyone see Oxiclean Commercials anymore? I doubt it
I’m ALL for ranDUMBness, and i see the underlying theme and message
I just believe its poorly executed,and their NOT gay people….for gods sake one of em is married….at least do some research before you flame

I used to like Tim & Eric Show, that is the honest truth. But it became pretty boring… pretty quickly.

I still found them mildly amusing… until I had the (dis)pleasure of seeing them in Boston on Jan. 31.

I really don’t know where to start with how bad the show was. I should have known when I was waiting in line and the show before ours let out… no one was smiling or laughing. There was no energy in their faces at all. It looked like they had either been forced to watch an awful kindergarten play, or forced to laugh at very bad jokes for about an hour and 30 minutes (imagine that!).

The opening DJ was awful and was heckled to get of the stage, rightfully so. His jokes were simply awful and I was shocked that someone like that had an entire theatre’s attention… I guess that’s what is wrong with this country, too many stupid people paying attention to other stupid people.

The main show started off by Tim and Eric coming out in skin tight outfits (the only somewhat funny part of the entire show) singing a song about poop… for about 10-12 minutes. I knew as this was going on that it wouldn’t get any better. I had been at the show for about 30-40 minutes yet and hadn’t cracked a smile.

To save time on writing sketches, they put akward people on stage and have them talk… I somewhat get that, I mean, as long as Tim & Eric were off stage. If they were real comedians, their friends (Gob Odenkirk, David Cross, Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn) would be on tour with them. They were not. Smart decision.

As I was leaving the show, I thought the problem was the fact that someone… at some point… probably friends and family… told them they were funny. Well, when reading another one of your blog posts(http://lethologica.wordpress.com/2007/02/28/tim-and-eric-are-here-to-stay), I found out I was exactly right:

“Tim Heidecker: I guess the only people that had seen it before were friends, and people that were interested in seeing it, so we’d only gotten positive reactions.”

I also found the below quote funny… The fact that people don’t like their show and voice their opinions makes them “Sad”… but honestly, I think it’s sad to watch these guys parade around and think their funny.

“Tim Heidecker:We were warned by Adult Swim, who said, “Listen, there’s this element out there of pathetic, sad people that feel it’s important to write on these message boards if they don’t like something.”

i wish cartoon network would get rid of the show and toss tim and eric off a cliff for having those two idiots think they’re good writers. the show is redundant, beyond simple-minded (basically borderline idiotic), tasteless, and tactless. oh yeah, dont forget tom goes to the mayor, take a shit on it, and flush.

Do tell, exactly what the fuck is funny about skipping effects? It’s absolutely fucking retarded to use an effect in EVERY one of their shows that was deemed as the most annoying things to happen to any entertainment product in the history of time.

By the way, “Because I really don’t give a fuck about traffic.” maybe you should unsubscribe to being on Google’s search Engine when someone types in to find a Petition to cancel the most retarded “LIVE” show on CARTOON Network. If you like the show so much, maybe you should make a petition to have it moved to BBC, along with british men cross dressing as women.

After all the desperate reading I’ve done to get a clear explanation from either side about where people get their reasoning for calling T&E comedy, or ‘funny’, I don’t think I have it in me to leave a long post. I would just like to ask for a -clear- attempt at explaining their appeal. I’ve tried over and over to understand, but it never clicks. I love a lot of the actors and comedians they have to cameos, so I just feel like there -has- to be something I’m missing. Could anyone explain?

P.S. I hope this isn’t labeled as ‘hateful posting’. I truly would like to understand.

Shortly after posting this to the blog, I decided to send it around to my local Obama mailing list to see if it sparked any further discussions. I’ve only gotten in two responses so far, but I’m just blown away that random Americans all over the interwebs are having this conversation on the 40th anniversary of King’s assassination. Let’s also not forget who prompted the elevated conversation we’re having right now. I wouldn’t feel empowered to speak so candidly about race (did I mention I’m white), if it weren’t for the speech Obama made recently. There’s a word for that, and it’s not triangulation.
